go thru it and refresh all the bushings, rubber, brakes etc etc. if thats all good id do springs, shocks and maybe some sways. if it runs good id concentrate on handling. a solid 90hp with great handling is a fun car.

Not unless you want to upgrade the cam, and improve a number of other engine items to match. Quick fixes include new swaybars, petronix, tight steering, suspension, brakes, etc.

like mike said, not without other upgrades but 45's are fun on the right motor.
i run 40's and should be running 45's for the motor i have but the 40's were cheap.

Brakes and suspension are always good to upgrade or even just refresh. The 2002 has great handling and braking in stock form when properly adjusted.

Beyond that, I'd say that the best bang-for-your-buck upgrade is the 5 speed transmission. Having the overdrive gear is incredible. It makes the car so much more practical and generally changes the overall character of the drive. Several places sell kits (http://2002parts.com/html/5speedconversion.html, http://2002haus.com/kit/index.htm). I have the 2002haus kit.

Volvo front brakes on a nice, tight car- well worth it.
320 rears- don't hurt, darn cheap.

Wider wheels, even if they're 'just' bottlecaps.

Good tires.

Sway bars.

IF you like a firmer ride, KYB is a great shock for the money. Some hate them.

ST springs and sway bars, again, for $450 the whole mess, great deal.

Sell the 45's and buy some of the above...

my 02.

Are you interested in selling your carbs? I may be interested if you are not going to use them. Thanks, Gary

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ARE LARGER SWAY BARS!!! They will really add to the fun of driving your 2002 and not break the bank. They are not too hard to install yourself either.

I second the motion about replacing worn out suspension bushings even if it is with stock rubber bushings.

Those 45's are not what you need.
