so last sunday we cleaned up our red 1970 '02 and headed up to cleveland for a british car show/swap meet....they were advertising porsches as well, although i only saw one....i was hoping to see some german cars. i thought there would be a couple...but alas, there were still some really neat cars. i don't know much about mgs and triumphs, but my wife took some great pictures....

very cool, it is good to see that many euro cars in such an inhospitable location. Between the lake effect weather and the tons of salt they dump on the roads not the best place for cars with rust prone undercaraiges and ground isues.
Bought my first car at 14, a 59 beetle rockers were completely rusted so no heat, and the front fenders had no front attachment points left so they would flap like mad above 30. But I drove it every day until I tried to pick it up on the lift at St. Joeseph High were I took automotives and the front end literaly broke off at the A pillar. The entire bottom pan was rotted away, car was just being held together by the upper body.

The white Triumph belongs to (or once belonged to) Pete Gallo, if I'm not mistaken. I worked with him on a number of design projects back in the 80s and 90s. He's one heckuva guy! I recall when he purchased it. Looks as if it's been given a lot of love.

Unlike the more popular MG-TCs, the late 40s Triumphs had all-aluminum bodies and were really great tourers.

Cheers!

Delia

Thanks for posting the pictures.
I had to work over that weekend so I was out of town.
I think JLandreth went but I can't remember.
