Subject: offset strut spacers done

After the work of the shortened front struts for my 2002 ALPINA project car, this is the job of the offset strut spacers, made in high resistance aluminium.

At the final, I attached the technical specifications for the FAQ people

Regards

why did you shorten the strut and then add these? How does this help with the suspension?

well, i'll try explain, but excuse me my regular english.

The strut spacer don't increase the height of the car, because is located below the wheel axis, between the strut and the control arm. With the spacer, I win gap between the control lower arms and the front subframe, also i win camber degrees, and increase the total front track for racing purposes

With the shortened struts, i can lower the car much more than conventional lowering springs, up to 6". With coilover's, i can modify the spring rate with many coil springs availables, and i can modify the height of the car..

how much have you cut out of the strut and did you use a VW insert then? Does the spacer return proper geometry to the front end?

You can see the difference between the shortened and original strut with coilovers in the following pic.

The struts were shortened like this diagram

You can see the complete work of the struts here
