In my front yard. Then the hawk had a little snack. He stopped as a guy down the street walked by with his dog. The dog ignored the Hawk. the guy went to the other side of the road. I got my kids out to watch this incredible bird and my cat was a little nervous. I went back in the house for a sec and
the hawk picked up the carcass and flew across the street to the next yard about a foot off the ground. When I came back there were 2 Hawks. the second was bigger. He grabbed the carcass and they flew away at about 6 feet off the ground. The strike was amazing! My daughter got some of it on video. the eating part.

The area where I live are full of hawks. I've seen a some take out a few rabbits on our walks. Predators at their best....always wondered why the neighborhood nearby was called BlackHawk.... _________________ Ray

I have tried my pellet rifle, and never scored, but my rat terrier can somehow get close enough and nails them. Worse part is I have to clean his mess with a shovel that I use to catapult them to an open field. I love watching the Hawks. Every now and then I see a bald eagle along I-70 in Indiana or Ohio. On a road trip to DC a few weeks ago I saw a huge bird sitting on top of and munching on the carcus of a white tail deer. This was on side of I-70 in eastern ohio. It looked like a hawk, but I wasn't sure if they would do that, eat someone elses kill. _________________ Ray
