Subject: Brake Booster upside down?

Is it possible to install the brake booster upside down?

Currently I have it so that the vacuum hose outlet, which is running to the manifold, is facing the fender side of the car. Not towards the engine.

When I press the breaks I can hear air leaving the hose. Is that the correct way?

Will turing the booster around effect this?

It can and is often done. Here's just the most recent post on this.

More if you use the search function. I haven't done this personally, though it may be in my future at some point.

Sweet!

I was really afraid to have to turn that thing around. Getting that pin through the back end to attach with the bell housing before took me a LOT of time and frustration.
