the owner must be TOTALLY out of his mind to sell it....

what could possibly replace that?

thats what I kept telling him!!

hopefully it'll go to a person who will take care of it. He put in a LOT of hard work. I remember when we loaded that thing on the trailer- from what it was then, to what it is now...amazing.

Nice looking car, for much less than it would cost to build it.

Thanks for all the kind words. I will have the car at the Bay Area 02 show up in Brisbane on May 17th. In the meantime I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I will update my blog with sale information and more details about the car. I will also be taking pictures this weekend and posting them as well.

For now:

Stunning car, I would love to have that car. Is the underside just as clean, and what is the quality of the paint?

Bump for a updated CL ad.

Paint is being wet sanded and final polished. The undercarriage is clean, but not nearly as clean as the rest of the car. I didn't do much underneath.

wow, the car turned out great!

btw, what paint is that you used on the instrument cluster? did you spray it with the Fusion paint first then overlay with another, can't read that second can in the pic. i dig it!

brad.

Thank you Brad. Yes, the Fusion Black went on first and then the top coat is Ace Anodized Bronze Refinisher (ACE 1012681). It is a nice subtle metalic and on top of the black turned out real nice.

Subject: How did you repair the shock towers?

I was looking at your blog and saw the entry about your rear shock towers being rusted. I searched the blog for the fix and never found it. What did you do to repair them?

Thanks in advance,

Doug

Hi Doug,
The original body was to far gone for me to repair. I found a 1972 shell that was rust free other than the front fender, nose and drivers rear 1/4. All those spots were repaired or replaced. Here is a picture of it when I first picked it up.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks
