Hello
I am new to this site and was recommended to use this to sell my 72 2002 Tii.
This is a nice 1972 BMW 2002Tii with matching numbers. I have had this car for the past 5 years. In that time, I rebuilt the motor and had a shop do the transmission. The car has some minor problems but rust is not one of them. The person who I bought the car from rebuilt the body. Like all older cars this one has strengths and weeknesses.
Strengths:
Rebuilt motor
Rebuilt Transmission
VIN from Germany not the same as the US ones (more rare)
Matching VIN and Engine numbers.
Rebuilt interior (includes headliner)
Non smoking vehicle (owners)
Garaged all the time I have had it
99.999% Rust free. The car had the rockers front cross frame and fenders cleaned out and rust removed. the frame has surface rust.
There is a fingertip hole in the wheel well. Other than that the car is sound.
Weeknesses:
Yellow (wife does not like this color)
Speedometer is broken. (I have a replacement one and will try to put it in this week)
Original injectors (looks like they are the original ones) Will need to be replaced some day.
My boys were able to put a few nicks in the paint with their bicycles (Boys, what are the odds that would happen)
Small ding in front of nose. (Thank you towing company)
Transmissions has a "Thunk" when shifting into reverse.
I went over the car with some touchup paint so the pictures will look great but there are several small scratches that a body shop would take out without any problem.
Why am I selling this? To get it out of my life. Long before I was married, I wanted one of these cars. I have restored several cars before and enjoyed working on older cars. So back in 2003, I ran across this vehicle and made a decision to get this. Well a wife and kids can change your ability to do things. Last spring my wife said "why don't you sell the car and get some dirt bikes?" So I bought dirt bikes for the boys and us and am ready to sell the car. (Yes I know she said sell the car then get bikes)
So after this long story, if you are interested in seeing the car, please email for additional information or a time to come out and see her.
If you are looking for a car to make a show car out of, this may not be the car for you. If you want a good daily driver and have a lot of fun, this may be the car for you.
Thank you
Russ
My goal is to make certain that the buyer has all the information they need to make a good decision. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. We have a person in our area who is an expert on these cars and might be able to come out and give you a great insight (better than I could) into this car. Contact bimmers only in Washington.
