Here's a couple I did a while back...two of my favorite designs of all time.

Thanks gwb...being without children and not married has its benefits (more time). I try to live along the lines of that saying you've got at the bottom of your page

I like the read one lots. Having an illustration/painting BFA myself (best 6 years of my life, gettin' it!) I remember something that was told to me as a freshman (and it's stuck with me) - that any drawing or painting based upon a photograph has an inherent "flatness" to it.

I think the red one dos a good job of avoiding that tho.

Dave at 2002 Restorations does some artwork also - doesn't he?

Thanks Paul. I dearly wish I had majored in art at this point in my life, as I know it would have been more personally rewarding. However, being "untrained" I think gives me a different take on some things since I'm not really following any rules, just those that I gleen along the way. Since I almost always draw freehand I think it's easier to get away from a static or flat look of a photo. But, that being said, I think they are a great source, the most practical source of reference for a car drawing. I have a great book called "Drawing and Painting Race Cars" by Michael Turner, who uses photos as references all the time. I think one almost has to with a Ferrari, unless of course, you've got one in the garage to do a portrait of:)
