Subject: CSL -- drive or sell -- update

As some of you with nothing important to do other than read the FAQ may remember, I bitched about never driving the CSL and my thoughts of selling it, since it is worth a gazillion dollars if bought by someone with euros: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,302424/highlight,/

Well, sage advice about driving it was the concensus from the fellow FAQers.

So I have. The touring is with Dick in the secure bunker this week and the CSL has made it to work twice this week. I drop the kids off at school on the way and my son loves it. After all, it's loud (sound) and loud (color: golf) and he's six. My daughter hates it. After all, it's loud and loud and she's a preteen who hates everything (other than buying more toys, which we are depriving her of, which means she hates us, too).

After two nights in our garage, my wife says "it is beautiful. you shouldn't sell it." That from her who thinks cars are, well, juvenile.

So, I guess it is not going to be repatriated to the contenient.

Thanks for your encouragement.

Now, should I sell the touring?

Nice. That car needs to see the sun and also have others appreciate it. It's doing it good being outside! I know I know you are worried about rust, accidents, etc. but hey wash it often and enjoy.

My kids would love that car. My daughter (3 years old) totally loves both the "blue car" and the "red car" that we have in the family.

Man, that CSL you have is a nice car.

you should only sell the cars that you don't drive. If one day the battery is dead, that is your signal...

You know I have gone thru the same mental debate, I am now thinking that there is never too many cars, but rather lack of time to enjoy each, or lack of parking space, they are toys, we have them because we can! We sell cars because we hate them, or we got something better to drive. I don't think that is your case with either...

i'll keep either one of them for you on the tarmac. Driving the pick up truck every day is getting a bit boring. :) I promise to take care of it :)

I did never drive it, but I had a battery tender on it, so the dead battery thing never happened.

Truth be told, the fuel injection on the car was funky and I was stumped on how to fix it and what to do. Apparently I did the right thing by letting it sit for a year and half or two, because it is work ok now (not great, but ok). I may go to triple webers, but I don't need to right away now that the FI is ok.

Don't sell either as you will regret it.
I let my CS go many years ago, a mistake i'll always regret.
I still have the Touring though.
