Subject: column pad removal

The lower column pad on my '73 has four screws attaching it to the column assembly. I can't seem to figure out how the top pad comes off. I see no fasteners so I assume it justs pulls off... Help please!

I just replaced my top pad on my 71, don't know if it's the same as yours, but I have four slotted head screws that go in from the bottom and thread in to the top pad. Once I removed these screws the top pad lifts right off. Hope this helps.

Steve

Remove the lower pad and lower column case, then unscrew the pad from the upper case.

Thanks guys! My top pad looks like someone before me tried prying (prising?) first. Anyone have a mint top pad for sale? I'll post on the parts link too.

The one I need is the flat (humpless) one. I looked for that exploded view on realoem but couldn't find it.
