The ordeal isn't huge, nor is it hard but there is work involved but it's nice to know i have a bullet proof getrag 260 gear box, with my m20
I'd love to get my hands on a CR/dog led gear box. The moment i do it's going in.
I lost patience when doing this(trying to fit tranny in and out repeatedly) and just cut the whole top area off.
Looking back i could have done a much cleaner job, cut off less and blend the tunnel better where it meets the E-brake.
Keep in mind that the finishing is affected, original carpets(to short), center console(to high), gets pushed up, if tunnel is to high
If i where to do it again i'd keep everything to a minimum, cutting, clearance of tranny and blending the finishing top layer sheet metal cleanly, trying to keep as close to original as possible.
Would i do it again? yes
Only better!
