I've never done any actual "work" as a photographer, more a hobbyist, and I've never liked my pictures of "people", rather I like to shoot "things". I've checked out some peoples work on modelmayhem.com and found some pretty talented people. Just remember to follow your gut. If they seem or feel like a flake, they probably are.

sacramento. The SS people do many other things aside from sports. You'll have to email from their profile as non-members can't post. You could check their jobs board too, as maybe you can post. You could also email Robert Hanashiro who runs the site and he'll help you find someone local. He's a USA Today staff photographer (although he lives in the L.A. area). Here's a quick search I did on Sacramento in the member area. You can look at their portfolio there (I'm sure sports though) and email them to see if they can do what you need.

One of 'em is in Elk Grove where you liive IIRC.
