Subject: My 1974 tii "666 The number of the BEAST"

the car iv got nearly a year ago. got it from a dealership that my cousin works at. when i got it brakes weren't working, either was engine.
and looked in a pretty sad state (still does!).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA4S4FzzpK0

so this was almost a year ago when i got the engine running and it was running pretty bad. i got the brakes fixed by a mechanic. (bear in mind i dont have much mechanical ability i decided to bring it to a mechanic and it was Hard TO FIND A GUY TO EVEN LOOK AT A 34 YEAR OLD CAR!)

I got the brakes overhauled for and she seemed pretty nice and on the drive home i noticed she was loosing power so i was half a mile from the house and she CAVED in!
took out the plugs and they were covered with oil and when i seen this i realised the link between the excessive BLACK SMOKE COMIN' OUT OF THE EXAUST!

So near my work there's a place called "Gala Precision Engineering" and these guys are the best, coming from a guy who is new to engine repair these lads are very eager and interested. they do great work too. Above and beyond the call of duty.
so i gave them the engine and they had it for about a month over the summer( delay in parts from Germany) and they restored it and it now runs on unleaded.they cleaned it up too and hopefully they did a great job (as of yet hasnt been tested cos its still on mechanics Floor!)

so after that was got, i brought it to mechanic and said i should get a new clutch kit first...so............i went into my nearest bmw dealership
and how much did they say for disc, plate and release bearing ...........€510
and how long did they say id have to wait?? ..........until the bmw factory gets a sufficient amount of orders so they can MAKE the parts!

so i tried Jamic.co.uk on the off chance they might have refurbished kits and turns out they DID! and only around 120 british pounds
but after a month of waiting and them saying "you should get it this monday" i returned to bmw dealership and the actually had the parts in stock, even though i never ordered them in, so i took em!

so that was November 2007 and im still waiting on my mechanic friend to put the car back together....

i intend on making this car totally Stock, re-chromed, new paint, new interior.
as far as i know there are only and handful of tii's in Ireland so i cant wait to wave the flag for '02 guys here.
