Subject: Grp 2 Flare installation

Here are a few shots of replacing turbo flares with Grp 2 fiberglass flares. I only had to cut an extra inch from the sheet metal to get more clearance.

The flares were acquired from Coupe Guy I am not sure if it was the molds or jus my flares, but the fit was not great. The rears did fit better then the fronts, but the backs on the fronts had to be cut since they were flaring away from the body. As for the air dam, i just could not fit it.

Stuff masked with blue tape was later cut off. The final results are in the last pictures. To see higher resolution shots, please see KGB-Racing.com

i believe the flares are supposed t be a lot less swept back then they are. Also, the part of the spoiler that is supposed to be attached to the driver's side flare seemed to be pulled forward so the gap between the flare and the spoler is several inches.

Lots of good pics of those flares in the "1977" years as a reference. Nice job.

How has the jump to the wider rubber changed the handling characteristics of the car? Did you have to redial your suspension settings? Chris

surprising to me, suspension did not need any changes. The car became dramatically faster with just tires and wheel change.
