I just noticed that I have put in 20k on my car in 9 months. My original plan was to keep my Tii in the garage and take it out on weekends. Ended up being my daily and my 02 Tacoma sits outside. These cars are truly a blast to drive.

Dude, the car looks great when it's assembled. How did the seat turn out?

I like to hear of others who drive their 2002 daily. I've only had mine since February and have put almost 7k miles on it. The 5 speed is nice on the interstate for sure. My friends hassle me because the new F250 only moves to haul off the trash or trailer the race car. I call it 'depreciation minimization'

I know what you're talking about. I restored my tii over a three year period, and had anticipated it would only be driven, say, 5-10K per year thereafter. Once I got it going in 2003, I have pretty much used it as my daily driver and put about 45K on it.

Yup, the granada 1600-2 has been my secondary car for years now. The wife loaned out her 325 to her parent's so she gets my 528e and I have to use the 1600-2 on my 70+ mile commute. With all it's H&R this and Koni that I forgot how nice of a car it really is! Still not as comfortable as my 528e though.

I grew up with my parent's tii as the MAIN family car! Road trips clear across the country and through Canada with the four of us, all packed in, the air shocks keepin' the rear level, camping gear in the trunk allong with the regular luggage all packed away IN the trunk.

I just laugh at these classified ads I see where some poor schmuk says he has to get rid of the '02 because "a baby is on the way" so he can get some honkin SUV.

I remember sittin' in the parking lot before By Scout trips and some parent asks my dad and I if we need to fit a couple of back-packs in their Volvo/Cherokee Vanagon. And loved the look on their faces when we packed in all four bags IN the trunk!

Ahh, childhood memories.....

What is really amazing is how well they actually ride and run. If you do some upgrades this little cars are awesome. Mine gets anywhere from 40-80 miles per day nad my 72 is a beater. Most people don`t even know I own a newer style truck F150.

Plus they have the cool factor too, almost everday someone comes over to comment about the car, how cool it is, they had one, they want one and so on. Funny because the demographic appeal is all over the place, age, sex or race don`t matter. They all love the little car.
