Why would he call it an 02? It's a 1600. Not to mention, it's in pretty good shape despite the funky pics. He's got an orig 1600ti carb setup waiting to power that beast. If he ever bails on it I've got dibs. Seriously though - the ebay car is a bucket. I'd say worth MAYBE 200 bucks if you need a yard ornament....

Esty, why do you feel the need to insult and defame people? Does it make you happy? Let's just talk about '02's and leave all the personal crap out of it.

i don't, as a rule...feel the need, that is...no sir, it doesn't necessarily make me happy or sad...

however...some times but only to those deserving few

i believe i was talking about an o2 or 1600...wasn't i?

i'm sorry....what did you have to say about '02's...in addition to the personal crap you brought to the table?

No, you weren't talking about an '02. You were insulting a guy that I happen to know and respect. I'm sorry that I tried to reason with you. I honestly thought that you actually had something positive to contribute to the forum. Since Al left, I thought that you might not be so hostile; Especially to someone that you don't even know. I was wrong. Forgive me. Carry on.

Let's concentrate on insulting the owner/owners of the '68 1600 who neglected it and painted it with a large worn-out paintbrush. That Turf car in its glory days was very fine indeed. Too bad. IF I was wealthy, orphans like this would collect at my house and get restored. As it is, my 02 is steadily getting what it needs as my wallet will allow...

If you knew what he was talking about why did you argue that you were only talking about cars? Mind explaining the reason for dragging bryant into it?

I get it. you don't like anyone that hates on you - so you respond like a child and retaliate. You're no better than the next guy....

At any rate. Yeah the 1600 may be ratty but I'd save it. Hell its only money. Plus why try to make your car look like a early 1600 or 2002 when you can just buy one?

I must have missed the ringing and burning in my ears. Silly me, I forgot me ears don't work!!!

I sure love it when people talk about me behind my back. Delicious!

Here is the thread that started the whole thing. Apparently some folks can't read. First off by not following instructions, then spewing insults by calling my car a POS when I said it has a long way to be road-worthy.

happy reading, fellas!

Here's the story on my 1600 (not this turd on ebay that someone thinks I need.)

Jerry Curry bought it on ebay. He had no way of getting it home from Kansas to Oregon. I unloaded it off him. Recruited my best friend and we were on the road to Podunk, KS.

Brought the car back to Texas in a rainstorm and then I parked it in my in-laws garage, storing it for the perfect time to start the restoration. It's a 67 Euro-spec. Here's what MT had to say about it:

Quote:
Dear Mr Robinson,

Thank you for your email.

The BMW 1600 VIN 1518559 was manufactured on March 2nd, 1967 and
delivered on March 8th, 1967 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp.
in New York City. The original colour was Chamonix, paintcode 085.

It doesn't matter to me that she looks like shit. I've loved BMWs since I was a kid, and to have a "piece of shit" like this is a dream come true for me. I will fix it up and give her the glory she deserves. She may not be 100% stock with the plans I have for her, but at least she will ride again! I now have my own property and I have plans to purchase another shell to use in the resto of this 1600. Hope to have things started by year's end!

Hey Bryant,

I remember when Jerry bought that 1600. I was super envious of it, and he and I were trying to figure out how to get it to me, here in BC as well. It was never gonna happen, but I'm so glad you're seeing it through. I wound up with my very own "Piece of shit 1600" as EstyD calls them. She must have some serious hate on for the poor little underpowered 67's.
