Feb 23 Update

Motor Going In

Still waiting on some front Suspension Bushings but this is how it should look when done:

Mar 7 Update

Engine Compartment Coming Together

Suspension is All In and Its Standing on Its Own Legs

Rear Wiring Is Done, Exhaust is Fabricated, Gas Tank is Installed, Rear Lights On

How The Dash is Going to Look, Almost a 2002

Front Lights all Wired and Installed, Out in the Sun for the First Time

Rear Doors Installed Molly is ready to go for a ride.

Radiator recored and mounts fabricated and installed

Mirrors Installed, Both sides. Look familiar? Rear view mirror is also 02

She's Runs! Fired it up last night and this morning we have been taking it on some test runs. Click on the below link to see a video of Eileen driving the little truck:

Two English cars with BMW Engineering helping to improve performance. (Eileen's MINI is a bit larger!)

Finally getting around to the interior, today cut the boards for the back. Carpet on order from Chris Willett, gas filler installed. Almost ready to haul some 02 parts. V@V fast approaching

Have finished making and covering the door panels

Another shot of the carpet. Chris Willett has a nice product and great service!! Only had to make some small alterations (shorten) to fit the truck (not the products fault!)

Rear side panels waiting for me to decide what to do

Took the little truck to a couple of hot rod gatherings last weekend Sort of a 'crossover' truck you know. Here is a shot with the big boys

After riding around for a year with just a 4 speed, my hearing finally said enough, and so I just finished an upgrade to a 320i 5 speed with OD. Nice and smooth and a little quieter now, ready for the summer events including the Vintage in May. Thanks to Al Taylor for the very nice 5 speed and to Keith Kreeger for the 5 speed sticker! Keep on 02 Truckin!

Its a 1959 English Ford Thames Had it for 30 years Sat in Dad's barn full of mice most of the time since I acquired it Started this project a couple of years ago

Thanks guys You can probably really appreciate more than most the time that went into this Been thinking about this for almost 30 years and working on it for about 2 and a half. Looking forward to running around town in the little truck Sketches I made back in the late 70s when I got the truck:

We are getting thin on Colorado colored cars! When you coming back Well, that is the neatest part to me, it runs just like a shortened wheel base 02, very responsive and its about 500 lbs lighter. Still tweeking and tightening. The guys drove it up and down the entrance road so they did not get to put it through its paces but I think they all liked it Come on home

It's good to be missed. I'll be home for the summer at the end of June, but I don't think I'll be able to make any '02 events this year. With our masters' classes in July, we'll only have about two weeks to see our families before we come back to China for another year, and on top of it all I'll be helping my mom move.

I do hope to be able to drive the '02 out to Chicago for our classes, though. That'll at least be more fun than bumming around in our Corolla...
