There comes a point when you want to exit an argument. Simply walk away. For online arguments, refuse to respond.
Insist that any topics covered thus far be resolved before the argument continues. This prevents your opponent switching subjects and responding to your rebuttals by simply making a new batch of assertions.
Ask your opponent what they hope to gain by continuing the argument. To what end are they arguing."

Imagine a perfect 2002 message board. No one involved in a pissin match, no threats, no idiotic threads wasting everybodies time. Just a bunch of 2002 enthusiasts helping each other out, selling each other stuff you may or may not need, having fun and making new friends. Guess what? We have the makings of that, but have some old teenagers that should know better acting out spoiling the fun for the rest of us. I am here to help enthusiasts work on their cars safely without hurting themselves or doing stupid things to their cars. I make my living from 2002s and have decided to share the wealth with those who appreciate it by giving good advice when I can. When I see crap like this, I just want to say goodby and leave the b.s. behind. I have my own way of dealing with certain people I deem not worthy of my advice. I have a list inside my desk with names on it. If one of those people calls or emails me for help, I am temporarily stupid and can't think of anything to say that would help them out. Dave's Christmas list is short. Start playing nice, people! Where is your Christmas spirit? Maybe Al and Esty should get married? Then we will see a show! BTW, I am not looking for any attaboys here. Just putting my .02 cents in.

because some chose to partake in all the forums activities doesn't immediately disqualify their input in the technical ones

Hey Paul,
I know Esty will say accuse me of harassing her father, but here's what I did, several months ago, in an attempt to clear the air.
I had Esty's address, and I connected it to a phone number using Google. I called the number, and asked for her. The dude on the other end said he knew her, but she wasn't there. I left a name, business name, location where I was, and a telephone number to reach me at. I attempted the same call about 3 more times over the next month or so. She never called me, and instead accused me of being an internet stalker. Seriously, all I wanted to do was chat with her, and clear the air. On another message board, I gave her a time to call me, and my personal cell number. She told me to fuck myself, or some other such thing.
Bottom line, I tried many times to clear the air with her, like an adult, off the board. Never happened, and never will. Not up to me anymore.
Hell, I even offered to attend the 02 GTG in Arkansas, if she would also attend. I was deadly serious, but she blew it off. What can I do? I try not to reply to her, and then someone asks about me, my company, or 02 interior stuff in general, and my name gets dragged through the mud.
Finally, I chose to adopt a "can't beat 'em, join 'em kind of mentality". Sad, but true.

ps - David, I sure hope I'm not on your shit list, because of some intraweb rabblerousing. I always love stopping by your shop on my way down south. Especially when it's 2am, and I've busted a gearbox in a 2002!

lol...that's a good illustration of the problems we all experience around this joint....
it appears some of you feel you control what's supposed to happen, how when and where...
because you decree it to be your way means it better be that way or you're gonna throw yourself on the floor in a tantrum and start another thread about why everyone isn't respecting your demands
when you show your ass in a public place paul...it ain't over til it's over...if you aren't prepared to accept the consequences perhaps the next time, you consider your actions a bit before acting on impulse _________________
