Subject: Snowball Update

this is my first 02- an Agave '73. I bought it as a "runner", but couldn't ever get it to run very well. After suspicious compression tests I removed and disassembled the engine and found worn out rings & a head that was over-milled .008" and warped .005". Since the engine was removed I thought hey, why not remove everything else, bead blast the ugly engine bay, and give it a new coat of paint? I wonder how big this "Snowball" is going to get.

Welcome to that slippery slope called Small jobs. Better put a lock on your bank account!!!! That is probably the best name I have heard on a project.
It will be worth it once it is done.
Best of luck!!!!

I've got a tii version of the same thing in my garage. Just waiting for more money to progress further. Wish I had thought of the name as it is truly fitting.

having stripped the engine bay to bare metal, I observed a suspicious amount of pitting in the firewall. better remove the interior and find out what's going on.

proper maintainence and inspection could have revealed to the former owner that the reason his engine had continual problems overheating was due to the fact that the hoses to the heater core were leaking. 2 lbs of iron oxide and a warped head casting later...

I'll bet the car was once owned by a SoCal surfer dude who's friends used to put their feet on the dash went they cruised the South Bay looking for waves.
