Subject: c'est une erreur!

I'm getting this on occasion...

General Error

Could not obtain topic information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 3 Error writing file '/tmp/MYXpIm1E' (Errcode: 28)

SELECT t.*, u.username, u.id AS user_id, u2.username as user2, u2.id as id2, p.post_username, p2.post_username AS post_username2, p2.post_time FROM phpbb_topics t, mos_users u, phpbb_posts p, phpbb_posts p2, mos_users u2 WHERE t.forum_id = 3 AND t.topic_poster = u.id AND p.post_id = t.topic_first_post_id AND p2.post_id = t.topic_last_post_id AND u2.id = p2.poster_id AND t.topic_type <> 2 AND t.topic_type <> 3 ORDER BY t.topic_type DESC, t.topic_last_post_id DESC LIMIT 0, 45

On accessing the general discussion page from a bookmark.

Just thought I'd share. ;-)

Cheers, happy 5th!

woa

I ran that SQL statement and it had no errors. I think the tmp file might be a php session variable -- Can you copy the bookmark? Maybe its got a session var in the URL that is no longer there or something.

Just this, same as the general discussion link on the page...

I am running the Chinese version of IE 6.0. Maybe that is something that has not been anticipated ;-)

hmm. that should be fine (worked for me!)

BUT! .. steves tmp file is pretty big ..

Code:
bmw:/tmp> du -hs
898M    .

so there is only 889M free in that partition. It could be that the disk space was used up

If so other folk should have had the same problem .. the tmp file and session variables being used shouldn't be affected by chinese IE or anything. ITs all on the server side as far as I know.

We'll clean the tmp file and see if the error goes away. Thanks for the headsup

If you use that link now it works ya?

The problem has been just sporadic over the last 2 days. Dontcha love that kind? ;-)

Works most of the time!

well I suspect its the tmp dir filling up

cos

here is one file
Code:

-rw-------    1 dhapache dhapache     895M Feb  1 08:15 _18023_131_32.wrk

that if another one of the same size was formed you'd probably get that error since there would be zero space left.

I'm finding that those wrk files are being generated by mod_gzip so we'll have to see what is creating them and why there isn't a cleanup being performed like you'd expect. I wonder if its related to using the forum backup command .. thats the only thing I can think of where mod_gzip would be used to make such a huge file ??? Even so I don't think the forum is THAT huge :) :)

I bugged steve about it. I don't have root so I can't view some of the logs etc.. but I bet its the tmp dir filling up is what is going on.
