I should of been more clear with the we statement and I am sorry about that. I will say that several people are dissaponted that he is gone and that several people hate that this keeps going on. Now that is all i am going to say about the subject and thanks for the help Jerry. Oh yeah and motronic, Please don't say "most of us are sick of it", because you dont know everyone on here and you can't generalise a statement like that. Thankyou.

Quick suggestion... why dont you take a poll and see how many are sick of all this and how many aren't. The reason it all started was because Al began using the board for his own personal gain coming across like he was doing everyone a favor and making a profit. I dont recall seeing ads for seemsalmostperfect in any magazines or paid venues do you?

Get it??

No, I'm sorry....I don't really "get it". Maybe you can re-explain it to me.

The poll you suggest, will have exactly the same utility as the "ban esty" poll did, which is to say.....no value at all.

Also, you mentioned in your first post that "most of us" were sick of Al using the FAQ board as an advertising medium. Your last post mentions asking FAQ'ers if they are "sick of all this".

Those are two entirely different questions since I think "all this" refers to the flame wars. I would guess the majority would answer the the first in the negative sense and the second, in the positive sense.

I'm sorry that you felt Al was taking advantage of the board by mentioning his business. I didn't feel that way, nor do I feel about that way about the frequent posters in the FAQ FS section. I do know that if I recreated a NLA stock part, I know I'd be promoting the heck out of it on the FAQ board. I suppose any sort of advertising is going to bring out opinions on both sides.

He did give away products as door prizes at various West Coast events and that's a form of advertising and also, expenditure.

I don't think it was the original posts that ultimately got Al into hot water though.

But you know, to each their own......it's cool.

Jerry
