I have nothing but praise for the service, product and help you and your company have provided me over the last few years.
If the content and tenor of the posts in this thread (and many other threads thus far) are any indication of the path to be taken by the participants on this board I for one expect to find little value in this new board.
Say what you want. That is my opinion.

im not sure what you mean by hot potato, but let me know! Do you mean boardfly? These guys in here? Nobody is going to care if max sponsors us. Ive already got another sponsor lined up but if we can spread the load all the better. I think part of the problem you have is that you *do* tend to pipe in a lot on boardfly every time someone asks a question about a part, and that can get tiring a little. Even I get a little iffy about constantly seeing that. And it might lead others into the conclusion that you have some kind of deal with charlie or whatever, however untrue that may be.. Just a tbought no offense intended! I LOVE YOU MAN!!! ;p

If I didn't know any better Rob - I'd think that hint of us supporting this board was a ripe, red hot SET UP to get all these other folks riled up against the mass EMPIRE that is MAximillian Importing. Out to rule all auto parts throughout history, to toppleall competition, and confuse all consumers! j/k!!!
Thanks for the offer Rob - but that's a hot potato I'm wary of right now!!!
Later Y'all!

then don't patronize them. As far as I can tell they have have never misrepresented their products and have offered good products for fair prices. If you don't like them then don't buy their stuff. What the hell is your problem?

Ok Guys - here's the deal,
The Noble name was ressurected in order to allow us to carry other parts besides just our normal staple of BMW stuff. Some of the BMW prices may appear different than our normal Maximillian Importing prices because the software only factors in a pre-set price formula. Often the "cost" factored in is different from our actual cost from BMW in Germany, Bosch, Elring, or other manufacturers through which our parts arrive. SOME of the prices reflected on the NOBLE site would LOSE us money!
Please don't panic - we're still the same old Maximillian Importing - with 2 sales guys, 2 warehouse guys, a book keeper, old fashioned microfiche machines, 6 phone lines, small office in the boonies, importing our BMW parts directly from Germany in most cases - and please make no mistake: WE ARE STILL BRUTALLY loyal to the 2002!
We are enthusiasts like YOU guys - and are lucky enough to earn a modest living selling parts for the cars we love.
If you find different prices on the NOBLE site - let us know about it. The web page and set up is completely new to all of us here - and we're working to get the bugs out of it. We were simply offered the site from one of our suppliers - at no charge - and thought it silly to pass up the oppurtunity. I always request that my BMW guys contact me directly - as they'll get PERSONAL INFORMED SERVICE - and often BETTER prices - but some folks still prefer the e-commerce approach - and prefer NOT to speak with a sales guy when they shop online. For those folks - we offer the NOBLE site.
For those of you concerned about the banning of other advertisers on the Roafdfly boards - please be assured that we are NOT responsible for this. We could care less about other vendors - inasmuch as they have every right to sell the same parts we carry. We have NOT EVER contacted the Roadfly administrators to ban, edit, or delete ANY posting from ANY company or individual. EVER!
We have NO interest in predatory capitalism. We have made NO effort or request to the board administrators that ANY company be barred, banned, or punished for posting sales, information, links, or any other advertising.
As for my seeming arrogant when asked to look up a price for a part that the caller was going to sell himself - please allow me to explain that when the same people call me up for technical advice, information, and "value checking" time and time again - but then choose to purchase their parts at ANOTHER vendor - it displays to me - a total lack of respect for what I do.
RESPECT for MY JOB
I am not some soda jerk pouring Pepsi and slinging hamburgers. I hustle to answer one or more of SIX incoming phone lines every day - sometimes answering over 70-100 calls in a single day! Like all of you at your jobs - I must account for and budget MY time. I love what I do, and I LOVE to help out other 02 owners (afterall - I am an enthusiast FIRST - and this job pays to support my habit and my heating bills!) - but like you guys - I have a JOB to do, and that happens to be SELLING PARTS.
We strive to provide the best OEm parts at the most competitive prices - but we feel that the knowledge, personal 2002 enthusiasm, and experience you receive when you order a part from us IS a value added to your purchase.
I love the cars...I love the people and community of owners. If I didn't - I'd be using my college education to make alot more money.
All the best to the new board - and to all of YOU who make it happen!!!

Subject: Possibly operating more than one business unethical?
|
|
|
That's pretty naive to think that a) companies are not often operating more than one outfit and b) that there's something wrong with doing so. If Maximillian's owner is in fact having enough success to branch out in more than one direction, more power to him! It's the consumer's responsibility to shop for price or research the company's background if its that important to him or her, so if you haven't done your due diligence don't feel cheated that somebody hasn't done it for you. Anyway, unethical is a lot of things but last time I checked, operating multiple businesses was not one of them.
Whatever the Noble thing turns out to be, Maximillian has done good business with me and I choose to patronize them for their expertise and customer service.

hehe j/k... Thanks for the info paul! It seemed bizarre that the prices were different... If i had any money left in my budget id go through and order all the "cheaper" stuff before you guys could change the proces ... ;p But alas the stack of invoices ive got from you guys is ... a STACK. hehe. Anyways, ROCK ON Paul! And let me know if Max wants to toss a couple bucks at the new board to help us pay to keep the wires warm!! :D
