that's crap...there is some useful info here...whether you agree or not, like what's said here or not, you shouldn't make that decision for the entire community

where's your attack on that rival forum, why hasn't it been moved here bob?

isn't this the reason he flames roadfly and left there?

i call him hypocritical...but i reckon it pumps his ego, tending to other peoples business

oh & speeding bobby...the subtitle, in part reads: Post that should not be read or deleted....i guess you didn't remember the or deleted part....

you can chalk that up to steve's less-than-perfect english composition skills. the way it is intended is, posts that should EITHER not be read, or (JUST) deleted! any other reading of that is hilarious and goes to your own sense of self importance. you can call me whatever you want, your moral authority to do so is at best ridiculous!!

"useful info" belongs on the general forum.

this forum is this site's TOILET. threads that have "earned" their place here (ahahahaha how twisted your little world truly is!!) are ... well you can follow the metaphor yourself. even you must flush your toilet at least once a week, right? that is a rhetorical statement.

If you have something useful to say, say it where we put useful things. Note the USELESS category label for this particular spot. buh buy and dont swallow the water!! :)

Start your own forum, and you can do it all!! :) It costs about $100 to get started and a few hours installing and configuring the software.

All I am trying to do here is create a DISINCENTIVE for all the disgusting stupidity (you know who you are!) that has gone on. Stupidity-->Toilet-->Flush. :) THis is not a place of honor!! LMAO! :-p

yes, start your own forum then you can play god and make yourself feel important by playing god with other people...and as an added bonus, you can put moderator next to your name in a color that's different than the rest of the population...that's to impress everyone with your position of self ordained superior authority

ain't that right bobby....you feel superior, don't you dude..how about allowing the member to do the creating...isn't this a forum for it's members or is it your toy, used to get your rocks off

Why even have the forum if these "useless posts" are going to be deleted. Why not delete them every day or delete every post that is flagarant, or better yet not even have the "waste of your time forum, do not read" just erased all together?

The funny thing about human nature is that you tell some one not to look, and the first thing they do is in fact LOOK. If all the posts are seriously a waste of time, and this board is for the soul purpose of 2002 education, then why have a personal attack forum?

Sorry for being a pain in your a$$ and thinking I know everything. That is clearly not the issue here, as we know I am a douche bag after all. Now I will now stop telling you how to run your forum and let you master that task yourself.

Actually, this is a good point. Just like some people state "if you don't like the thread topic or content, don't read them!", the same logic dictates that if you don't like the way Rob (or whoever) is running the forum, don't come here. Besides, y'all act like moderating this stuff is fun, I am sure it is not.

Also, I think it's great that they move the threads rather than delete them. Deleting is sorta godlike (but again, it's their show, if you don't like it, leave). Moving them makes sense, because it's important to keep things categorized. For sale stuff goes in the for sale section, useless stuff goes in this section. I don't see anyting wrong with moving stuff around.

Well, this keeps the arguments, name-calling, goading, and general asshattery in a more or less confined space. I think its a necessary evil.

The good thing is that if you want to come here for advice or to check one someone's project, you dont have to sift through posts like these. Then again, if you're looking for a spot of light reading during lunch, this stuff makes for decent entertainment.

Site admins exist for a good reason. I run my own forums too, and I make sure that things go as smoothly as possible. Nobody particularly cares for people in any sort of position of authority - especially when they excersize that authority. How many of you liked your high school principal, or that cop who gave you your first speeding ticket?

Since these threads are mostly going to be people lambasting one another in heated debate (or just good-old-fashioned name calling) I dont see much loss in flushing it once in a while. If there's anything truly useful, I'm sure someone could take that information, and put it in a thread without so much anger.

Next comes the part where someone calls me a kiss-ass...

i'd agree with what some of you have said, however, it doesn't follow the status quo to delete threads from this sub-forum...

take a look at the absolute most worthless use of forum space ever...the test forum....why haven't threads "auto-pruned" from there, or the suggestion forum...it's almost if not equal in being worthless...then there's the off topic forum....actually, there's little difference between off topic and this one, other than things get a tad bit more colorful here...but i'll assre you, there's an awful lot of crap in off topic that doesn't suit my fancy or bobby's either, i'd bet

if it was a simple policy issue that old, worthless threads were pruned that'd be great, however, this isn't the case here

i have no doubt bobby's got a hard on about it like the peeps at roadfly used to get and he's simply using his authority as a sexual aid

from the looks of things, this appears to be a popular forum....it's unfortunate bobby just plain don't like it, to the detriment of everyone else that might ever post here or even want to by reviving an old [deleted] thread

it's very roadflyish to start deleting threads based on your subjection bob....the more things change, the more they look alike kiddo

EDIT...another thing....if you really want people to see what assholes post here and display their absolute stupidity as you described it, leave the crap here to evidence the real douchbags of the forum, like myself....

but some of the other real assholes, like you bobby and of course that canadian carpetbagger for example would like to see a lot of this disappear, so no one could see what big huge assholes they actually are too

So if it was a policy that was in effect before you joined the site then it would be okay? I think if you just look at it as a NEW policy then everything would be fine and there would be nothing to fuss about. Don't start knocking Rob for trying to keep this a site about BMW 2002's not who can talk the most trash.

IMO, if it was put up to a vote whether this section should even exist no doubt people would vote for it to go away. It's nothing more than a place for those that find it hard to get along with others and it's sad that it was even started.

I'm not here to take sides or start trouble, if that's what some want from this forum than maybe it's not the right place for them.

This is the main reason why these worthless post should not be deleted.
Just my 02 cents. (which seems to be worthless in this issue.)

there will always be disagreements and we'll never agree on this issue....that said.....screw everything that's not BMW related...delete everything that's not BMW related....don't allow anything to be said that doesn't contain information or a question about a BMW 2002...

i assume that's what you're talking about....good god dude....come out of your cave..where there's a group of people, you're gonna have diversity, disagreement, crap, politics, mudslinging, gossip, innuendo, animosity, contempt, and ever other human nature that goes into being in the outside world

man doesn't live by BMW's alone...perhaps in their fantasy worlds..deleting stuff's nothing more than subjective bullshit, steve and rob don't like it, and that's that, screw anyone that stands in their way

1) Post something to each thread every 7 days. Voila'....no auto-pruning.
The shit in the bowl can hang around forever w/out being flushed. Your missives will last forever.

2) If you don't like the FAQ, leave.....believe me, you won't be missed much although, I'd miss your avatar. You remind me of a houseguest who then complains about the quality of red wine served. Bring your own...or.....better yet, start your own forum.

3) The original carpet threads that were on the main board still remain accessible via the search since they were not moved to an auto-prun'ed area.

So, I think you can feel assured that the "piss & vinegar"....err, um..."really useful information" in these character defaming threads (that goes both ways) will also remain to light the way for the poor newbie seeking interior advice. Sniff....

Esty.....you are like a grain of sand in one's bathing suit after one comes home from the beach. Hard as hell to extracate but I suppose, useful because it serves to remind me my ass is still glued on.

Jerry

PS: Again, if it were my forum, I'd edit the hell out of you. I guess I should hit my shrink again as my god-complex issues are definitely flaring. SMIRK!

another option available...you could just ignore the things in life that stress you, such as me....

it's always really easiest to tell someone else to shut up...especially when you think it's interferring in you glorious lip movement...i've never seen a forum where there weren't a group of guys that believe the way to munchinkland to be, telling everyone they don't like to leave

sorry mr curry, that you don't care for me...but i don't care that you don't care...i don't care that you're able to come here and bitch about me, like i'm bitchin about deletions....we're more the same than you think dude....you're here bitchin too, aren't you?

saint's wouldn't be caught dead in an argument on a sleezy sub-forum like this that are full of assholes and wretches

....you cause me stress. Um, yeah!

You remind me of this place here in Oregon......outside of Salem, in a town called Rickreall.

There's a lovely view of the Willamette Valley countryside and of the Coast Range. However, in Rickreall is a rather large dairy operation.

So, while its a beautiful view.......there is a good amount of a stink.

Substitute the FAQ for the view and you for the stink and
there you have it.

I still love the view, despite the distraction. Might be better w/out the distraction.....but not a whit of stress.

In any case, I hope some of my points were valid. No pruning if you post. original threads still in the search etc...etc...

Horray for Dyslexia.... I read that as "Grass Pants" the first time...

And I rather like H_kiss_ass. Clever, with just a hint of scathing to it. 6.5 out of 10.

Esty,

Its Rob's fun little project and he can make the rules. Oh, the horror. If you or I or anyone else doesn't like the rules, you can leave and start your own board. Fill it with as much sh*t and useless information as you want. If you want to preserve a real juicy topic for posterity's sake, post it to your blog. Wait, you've done that.

And it has probably been mentioned before to you and the others who use these forums as your own sound board for things damn near completely unrelated to 2002s, but the "if you don't like it, don't read it" theory falls apart when your nastiness invades a large percentage of the threads. It shouldn't be my "obligation" to avert my eyes when I see trouble any more than it is my "obligation" to dodge bullets shot by a lunatic in my own backyard.

Respond, or don't, because I don't give a shit.

Thanks,

Benz

dude, what drugs are you taking....i doubt seriously....no, i know for a fact, aside from here, which was made as the appropriate and seperate place, i've not salted anyones threads...you're imagining that because it's easier to accept that reality?

and in as much as this is a seperate and distinct sub-forum, one doesn't have to try to divert bullets....you chose to drive smack dab thru the middle of the gang war in compton.....you did...you're in the drivers seat, correct?

and....please, you and others, telling people you aren't fond of to leave just doesn't work....trust me...i've been emailing george bush & donald rumsfeld telling them to leave, almost 7 years now, to no avail
