As some of you know I was in Europe for the past couple months and so my car has languished without any work being done on it. Now I have returned and before I head back to school these last couple days of break have been spent working on the car.
While in Germany I picked up a full set of Zender boxed flares minus a couple of scuffs and bumps they are pretty much perfect. Wheel wells have been trimmed (if you can consider taking 3 inches off trimmed.)
I cut off the lip then marked out where the instructions showed to cut(if anyone is in need of i would be more than willing to translate and photocopy the original zender instructions, stamped 1980!) I then carefully cut off only the outer layer and once that was off cleaned up the metal underneath, got some clamps and welded the whole thing shut again, and ground it all smooth.
Don't show it in the pics but, removed the old nasty tar today also to get to the drain plugs, worked perfect scoring it and then freezing. I did it with 15lbs total and each side was let sit for about 30min.
Here some pics of before, progress and current. And the interior which is wonderful I couldn't be more happy with how the seats turned out.
Also what this set of pictures doesn't show is that I welded up the rear side marker and front reflector also, or all the work i had already done to smooth out all the panels, oh well least it's getting somewhere now.
Before
The filler is getting moved to in the trunk and the bumper area is getting filled seeing as i'll be running the original short sides with out overriders.
