Here are the updated pics of my project o2.
John
It ROLLS!
Here's the trim under the rear window. Thanks Al L. for the advice.
Messing around with the headlight buckets.
Battery brace. I think I cut the vinal too narrow.
Glass is getting there.
Headliner waitting for new sliders.
Block from Dave in Pa for the basis of my new motor.
Heater box explosion.
I'm going to try this fan and see waht happens.
Recored heatter core.
Kinda more of the same except the glass and the roll bar.
Definetly a tight fit. It's an Autopower Bar. My friend and fellow o2er John Landreth came over today to help with the bar.
And every time we walked up the driveway we thought it looked toooooo cool.
Wool square weave carpet with rear delete kit from Al Canuk. The fit and finish is great. I still need to do the rest and glue down some edges.
Well, the time has come to paint the block. I cleaned it with Marine Clean from Por15. This gets rid of all the machining oil off the block. Then etched it with Ospho acid. Then a coat of Por15 silver and then Por15 engine enamel mixed to make Colorado (sorta)
Well, I had to repaint it. When it dried, it became..... pink.
So, the shop mixed me up some real Colorado and I shot it again.
Looks great John!!
What happened with the dent and crack???
Im selling those Scheel seats if your still interested.
The 2002 is getting a engine rebuild. Went to replace the blown headgasket and noticed the Alpina head was cracked in a few places as well as a piece that broke off. The block needs to be decked as well since there is a gouge in between cylinders 3 & 4. Costly but it should be done soon. Anyway hope things are going well. Im moving to NC. this Nov. Maybe I'll see you at vintage fest. again this year?
Take care!

I also like the look Harv. That looks to be quite the dent in the fender. What happened there? Did you cry for a long time afterwards?
I was moving the body on the dolly so I could get at the rear subframe bolts. It was late, I was tired, I was alone in the garage and I did something stupid. The body shifted on the dolly and fell off the jack and it hit my Bridgeport.
I actually kept it together till the next day.
Open hood, open wallet, throw money.

Really starting to look like a car again! What are you planning on doing next? Do you have any kind of timeline?

Next will be a trip to the interior shop to get the headliner installed. Then I can finish installing the glass, then the roll bar, then the carpet, then the dash, then the wiring, then the motor.

I asked the same thing in the thread John started in General Discussion - he answered Ireland Engineering rear disk upgrade with park brake. _________________

Go up and look at my post of pics. The shop used a new type of epoxy that is used on newer cars to bond composits to steel or aluminum. It's black and I think it was like 200 a tube and they used like 3 tubes I think.
