Al - sent you an email last Friday about the carpet kit you sent - so far no reply... I know you are busy, but I need questions answered...

Al's busy running two businesses at the moment. He will return your email at the earliest possible time. TO check the status of the order perhaps call the shop phone to talk to the head trimmer.

Hey Jack,

Yes, I'm here, but spending more time in the shop catching up, than answering email. Plus, it was my 30th last weekend, so I actually managed to walk away from work, and enjoy myself for a day or 2. Your email is on my laptop, which is at the shop currently. I'll get back to you Wednesday morning.

Al

ps - Gee, I wonder who the "gEsty" could be!

Wrong again Sherlock. I don't have an account but browse and post here regularily. If you want these posts to stop try answering your messages and not having a "friend" asnwer for you. This is starting to get old.

Simple if you can't get back to someone with the appropriate answer then send them a quick note to let them know you will respond when time allows. It has worked for me for 25 years of sales in different industries.

I was going to order a new carpet for my restoration (yep its a real turbo) but now I think I will have a local trimmer with a 20 year history of custom work on german cars do it for me. Someone who underpromises and over delivers repeatedly. While it will likely cost me double, I will get the satisfaction of supporting a craftsman not some shady guy.

You can't see the forest for the trees. Your reputation is taking a real drumming and you have no one to blame but yourself.

You make it sound like Al deals illegit carpet out the back of a station wagon in a dark alley.

Have fun with your trimmer. I'm sure it will come out perfectly nice. But it would be great to put a face to a name rather then GuESTY.

Look, I've already explained myself around here, but I'll try again for those who may have missed it the first, second, and third times. Seams Perfect bought another shop in February of this year. It's a full service repair shop with 10 years established clientel, and it was a great business move for a couple of reasons.

First of all, it is a nice supplement to my income, so I can live a little easier, and a little better. It enabled me to buy a new car, which I needed. The new car was needed so I can more efficiently run Seams Perfect. I frequently drive to the US to pick up carpet, vinyl, leather, and a myriad of other items that we import. Last time down, my E28 blew up, and left me stuck. I was unable to get down there for several more days, which REALLY threw me a bad curve ball. With the new car, I can travel easier, which WILL make a positive impact at Seams Perfect.

The other reason for the new shop is so I can scale Seams Perfect back just a little bit, and concentrate on filling existing orders, finalising a number of projects, and not worrying about taking in a huge number of new orders, which can be difficult to fill when understaffed. Seams Perfect will always be my baby, which I started with a personal savings account, and a Mastercard. It's grown exponentially in the past 3 years, and left me scrambling from time to time, trying to keep up with demand. Growing pains can be a bugger, but we're making changes to improve the customer service to the level it was when we started.

One of those changes is the new car, but the next one is that the telephone is up and running again, with a real human on the other end! Andre is now not only my head trimmer, but also answers the phone, and is taking orders, answering questions, whatever he needs to do. It's a HUGE step in the right direction. The new shop is about 100' away from Seams, and I am here all day, every day. If you phone Andre, and he can't help you, he asks me, I give him help, and he WILL call you back. It's a clean system, and it works. Go ahead and call (604)598-1712, and you WILL get an answer on the other end, I promise. Finally, we've also recently built a wireless network, so I can keep in touch with email throughout the day. I'm standing in the new shop right now on my laptop.

So please, all I ask is that people are patient, and things will improve. I had to step away from Seams Perfect for a month or so, to get this place running, but it will get back to the days of old, I promise.

Ummmm, Esty, I do believe he was referring to the "Guest" who is bashing me without putting a name on it. I make no excuses, and have explained myself enough. Didn't I tell you to F off once already?

Sorry I am not bitching just making a point - which seems to be a recurring theme here.

I haven't registered and I don't plan on doing so. I don't have time to answer lame questions about my cars or requests for parts. My turbo project is a lot of work and has consumed a lot of my time and resources, the last thing I need is to answer questions about my particular car and its history.

The way others on the forum have been treated when the speak out against a "member" of the FAQ leads me to not want to put my name out there. Call me paranoid but I don't want people emailing, visting etc. I took a month off of my job just to finish my turbo in time for the summer. You want to come and meet me, go ahead I will be at the Palo Alto show in a malaga 02 with motorsport slide throttle.

Bottom line. I do not use the internet to hawk my wares, Mr. Canadian does. So as far as I think he is fair game. Sorry but that is what the message board is for - to discuss vendors , parts, tech etc.

Sorry to have started all this - not my intent - I just need a question answered and a dilemna solved wtih a kit that doesn't match my interior... My car is sitting waiting until I get some answers from you.... ...for the amount of time you have invested in answering questions here you could have answered my email already... ...now I know you will be tempted to post here, but PLEASE - just reply to my email so we can keep this offline and I can get back on track wtih my project :-)

Hopefully this is the last post in this thead - everyone has made their opinions clear. Agian, sorry for starting this.... Let's move on....

Thanks, Jack

Well, I for one will DEFINITELY come and meet you in Palo Alto this May. I have been attending the event for the past 3 years, and a sponsor for the past 2. This year I am donating over $800 worth of door prizes to the raffle. See you in Palo Alto.

Great! Are you going to bitch and complain and make excuses?

Or are you coming to take care of me? Tough guy.

Maybe you will call me a C#^T and threaten to drown me too? Isn't that what you said? Nothing like threatening people with violence, very slick.

Maybe you will come and pick apart my interior or explain to me why your seats all look like the covers are too big? Why are the bolsters so wrinkled?

You think that if you had completed an entire interior for a guy in this case Jack H. you would be likely to return his requests first , no?

Just a thought, signing off.

I have zero returns, and zero leftovers in my shop. We're making all new stuff from scratch just for this show, but thanks again for playing the game.

I've been around these boards since the days of Chris Kent's 2002 mailing list, Bimmer.org, which turned into Roadfly, and then since the inception of this board. I was an original member of Robspeed's 2002DIY mailing list, and I've been driving these cars for over 12 years now. I have spent most of those 12 years telling everyone I know that the 2002 is the greatest car in the world, but not because it's a great car, but because the people involved with them are so wonderful. I've travelled to Toronto to meet 02ers, Calgary, Seattle, Portland, and all over California. I plan to get to every 02 Fest on the continent, or at least I used to. These days, not so much.

I can recall some ugly stuff in the past (Elliot comes to mind), as well as lots of complaints about various vendors over the years, and I've even been involved in some of it myself. Having said that, I have NEVER seen such a brutal personal vendetta as Esty has against me, or my company. This board as a whole, and this vendetta in particular, is starting to remind me of something I would see on the VW Vortex. It is indeed, getting very old. I'm at work, doing everything in my power to get orders done, and items shipped. I have never worked so much in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I could completely understand this kind of nonsense if I were not working, not doing what I said I was, and slacking off all over the place.

I'm not only a friend but a shophand. To continue it this far your obviously a shallow husk of a human being. Al finally snapped after a long time of acting civilly and trying to resolve this. But unfortunatly the person who created this problem is completly unreasonable and unhinged. I look forward to meeting you in Palo Alto. I'll be driving the Sienna braun 75 with the steelies.

no vendetta and absolutely not personal....you shoulda been called out a long time ago and weren't...it's easier for you to try to point to me as the cause of your issues here...and trust me, i don't mind...but it mosdef appears there are many others that don't appreciate your attitude as well....what goes around comes around....know what i mean?

remember what i said....you're the cause of everything that happen to you....be careful what you cause

I should have been "called out"? Called out for what? Being sooooo fucking busy that I'm having trouble meeting demand? Called out for supplying a fine enough product that I've become that busy? Called out for working 17 hours a day to meet that demand? Called out for not hiring some cut rate asshole who can't do work nice enough to satisfy my clients? Called out for not offering a $200 carpet set in 50 shades of horseshit colours? Called out for??????????

Not a personal vendetta? Riiiiiiighhhhhtt! You're the only one here who thinks that this is not personal, so give it the fuck up. This IS personal, and you made it that way. I'm 110% positive that you get off on searching my name on the board, just to shit on my threads.

Subject: Esty, Let's Review

A newbie posts asking about interior work and you reply, "I wouldn't recommend using Seams Perfect for your interior work because of Point A & Point B." END.... Try it sometime, its easy.

To infer that someone is self-serving because they donate stuff to an 02 fest is just plain mean-spirited. I understand Al's said some things to you that have set you off. Al frankly, should have just kept quiet. But.....you just HAD to jump in on this thread that the "guest" got all heated up. It wasn't your fight this time.

How about you think about the tone and mood of the board and the feeling of all of us that have to read this stuff before responding and fanning flames?

How about we ALL think about the poor person that started both the recent threads....and how embarrassed they got because their threads were taken over with vitriol? If they need to contact a vendor...that's between them & the vendor. PERIOD.

How about we all STFU? There's no place for this stuff on this board.

Frankly, if this was my board...I'd moderate the hell out of these um, discussions. If nothing constructive was forthcoming, I'd edit them. But que' sera' sera'.

Esty, I'm glad you are here and like your comments about bodywork and such but really, now... This is ridiculous.

Guest, I get that you have a beef about Al...but signing your post, "anti-canadian". Now, what's that gonna achieve? Lastly, I doubt they'll be a rumble in Palo Alto. But there are gonna be dirty looks. Just drop it, drop it now.
