How much clearance do you have between the water pump and radiator?

Also, with the radiator pushed that far forward, which electric pusher fan were you able to fit in the nose?

I don't recall off the top of my head. I'll get an answer to you after I visit the shop on Monday.

Hi Ian,

Your car looks awesome. Just as your car is being finished up I'm sad to say that mine just got wrecked. I'm having to deal with insurance and all that stuff and I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about the inital purchase.

If you could send me your email address or write to me that would be great.

Thanks,

Evan

Ian,

Your car looks GREAT! You've done a great job of documenting the whole process. It must be a great feeling to have your 02 at home finally. Hope that you can get it out here to CA for one of the rallies. Thanks again for the helpful info.

Let's see...been awhile.

Sound deadener is in.

Tail Lights in.

3/4 of the beltline trim is on.

Door handles on.

Headlight buckets treated in POR-15.

Bumper brackets treated in POR-15.

Headliner just installed.

Car is currently back at the bodyshop to have the mechanic put new injectors in and for the bodyshop to install the gutter trim and touch up some of the chips/scratches that I have managed to put into it.

More to come next week.

Hope to Steve.

Aiming to have it ready to go for Jonathan and Brad's next Carpool get together which gives me until the end of March to get it wrapped up.

Not likely to be at V@V. Kids and wife would kill me if I left them on Memorial Day Weekend as too many other activities kick off that weekend (pool opening, boating, etc.).

Maybe something later in the summer.

Hi there, I'm doing my m20 swap but am having a couple of wiring problems, basically no spark
I'm trying to make the old main relay, fuel pump relay, o2 sensor relay work from the e30 wiring harness but not sure if getting the right power at the motronic and when inition is on,

Is there an easy formula for this?

Thanks

To be honest with you, I am not quite sure. Car was running with the m20 in it when I purchased it 2.5 yrs ago. The mechanic at the shop re-traced the wiring last year around this time. Next time I stop by the shop, I can try to investigate things further for you.

BTW, not sure if you have it or not, or if it will be helpful, but I have the "6 goes into 2" PDF write up that I can send to you if you want.

Turbo Spoiler. It has 3 studs that go through the deck lid and bolt up underneath.

Well, this update is long overdue.

Drove the car home from the shop in early March and have been trying to reassemble it when time allows. My 3 and 6 yr old consume much of my time, so it has been a slow process.

Car is mechanically complete. Most of my current efforts have been and are concentrated on interior, electrical and cosmetics. For instance, the rear bumper has yet to be mounted or wired up and the interior currently contains a driver seat and nothing else.

A sampling of items on the checklist include the installation/checkout of:

carpeting
kick panels (thanks Bill)
stereo - Nakamichi head unit, MB Quart fronts, JL Audio AMP
wiring - stereo, fan switch, rear fog, fuel level sender....
e30 m3 rear seat - requires some measuring and cutting before going in.
3rd brake light - JC Whitney LED
hood prop bar
adjustment of windows
installation of door cards
etc....etc....etc

Was able to get it out and take it up to the get together at the Carpool in Herndon, VA. Figured everyone would recognize that it was still a work-in-progress.

Anyway, here are some pics.

Shelves of parts to go on.

Harrison...here is that spoiler for you.

Looks really good!

How hard is the door seal to install? I placed an order with bav. auto, and will install it as soon as it arrives. Hopefully it will elliminate the whistling at speeds above 50mph

Not too difficult. I started at the a-pillar and was able to feed/slide the top edge into the track and work it over to the b-pillar. Used plenty of lubricant (Might have gotten lucky as I know that others have had difficulty getting theirs in). Once that was done, it was pretty simple to tuck and glue the rest.

No seat for the Misses to ride in? I'm sure she felt a little left out. Looking good figure June on Completion date?

Then you will need to bring it to LRP for 02 days.

Missus has no desire to ride in the "Mistress". Not yet anyway. We'll see if she comes around once it is all back together.
