Subject: for a lady

I there guys..

My lovely lady friend apparently has run into some trouble with her 95 nissan altima. I have suspected for years that the mechanic her and her mother take it to is taking advantage of them. apparently she had noticed the car was struggling to start over the last week...and then yesterday is tried and tried but would not start. I asked her if there were any funny smells. and she said no..the mechanic told her there is no compression in her cylinder(or cylinders). She did say she drove it on the..freeway..the.night.before.and.noticed.it.was.hard.to.get.up.to.speed(that.part.is.a.little.worrying) Basically.I'm.asking.if.there.are.anythings.other.than.her.engine.being.shot.that.could.lead.to.this...headgasket.was.my.first.guess..I.just.want.to.help.the.girl.out.she.is.pretty.broke.and.wont.be.able.to.afford.a.new.engine.anytime.soon..

worst.case.scenario...is..it.likely.just.the.bottom.end?
What.actually;causes..no.pressure.in.the.cylinder..it's.oil.pressure.right?

Subject: could be piston rings

that would cause poor compression. more likely it's a fuel delivery problem...fuel pump, injectors, clogged fuel filter or possibly an ignition issue...bad plugs, bad distributor, spark plug wires. if you suspect the mechanic is a fraud get a second opinion.

hard to diagnose without some more details. does the starter spin but the engine doesn't fire. are the spark plugs covered with gunk, have they ever been changed?

motor.is.turning.over..but.struggling.it.sounds.like.spark.plugs.should.be.fine.car.has.recieved.fairly.regular.service..I.cant.actually.look.at.the.car.anytime.soon..I.just.am.trying.to.prevent.her.from.having.them.put.it.in.the.shop.for.a."new.engine.swap."and.have.my.poor.friend.be.in.debt.over.it. The.thing.is.she.also.said.the.mechanic.said"I.don't.know.what';s.wrong.with.it..sounds.like.he.did.several.tests.including.compression.and.decided.it.was.in.need.of.a.new.engine...
sounds..pretty.weird.to.me. I.was.thinking.maybe.it's.the.lower.bearings,..because.when.i.lost.them.in.an.old.volvo.122s...I.was.doing.80..and.the.speed.slowly.dropped.till.it.hit..55.and.started.banging. I'm..really..just.guessin.though.

Chances are if they both come up with the same story it may be correct, if a different story they are both blowing smoke up your ass for fun and profit. Either way junkyard engines are cheap. UNfortunately.I'm.new.to.souther.cali.so.I.don't.know.anyone.
her.mother.has.been.using.this.mechanic.for.many.years.but.everytime
they.work.on.the.car.it.seems.the.most.expensive.fix.for.the.problem is.the.solution(ie...it's..losing.water"we.need.to.replace.the.radiator) If.I.could.get.to.the.car.and.take.a.look.I.would..I.will.suggest.as.I.have. already.that.she.take.it.to.another.mechanic.though..unfortunately.it's. sorta.in.the.mothers.hands...and.I'm.afraid.she.is.too.trusting.of.this. mechanic....Thanks.though.
