Subject: Time for Laundry

I've never had to wash my oily shop rags before. Now I have a box full of 'em ready to be washed. I live in an apartment complex so I can use the laundry room instead of my own washer/dryer. How should I wash my shop rags? Or am I better off getting rid of them and buying new ones?

Id do it late at night when youre least likely to get caught. this is how i do it at home. my wife is so pissed at me and claims she has synthetic lube on some of her good clothes. i dont see the problem as ive never complained about the way she looks. but whatever, the last thing you want is some women coming in and seeing you pulling nasty ass greasy rags out of the washer.

Thanks, Blunt. Love your avatar.

Hot water/cold water?

Regular laundry soap? We use Era liquid.

i dont really know how to do any laundry but i use hot water and liquid tide. if you have any of those cheap red shop towels you buy in bundles dont wash them with your whites. i have lots of pink t shirts and boxers. at my house we have boy jobs and girl jobs. laundry is a girl job at my house mainly because she doesnt trust me with her clothes. thanks on the avatar, a friend of mine did it for our company sign. i havent told biscus im using his likeness on our sign as i dont want him thinking hes a celebrity type. i much prefer his "mutt" personality

Most females are funny about us washing dirty things.
I think we should get a break. Give a man grief over him wanting to do laundry and he'll never want to do it again.

Seriously,
If things are just a little dirty with only the occasional oily spot, then washing in hot or warm water with good detergent should be fine. If things are more oily/greasy, maybe spray 'em down with some Shout prior to washing. If they are REALLY oily/dirty, you may want to pre-soak them in a 5 gallon bucket. This is what I do for my buffing bonnets that are saturated with cleaning compounds and waxes.

If all this is too much trouble, buy cheaper rags and use them to the point when they need to be tossed.

If you do use the washing machine, do a courtesy test load afterwards with just a couple of white towels. as long as they come out white, you should be safe.
