Subject: I need to get a life.................i think

after picking up the 318is and parking the 72tii for the winter, I (we) now own 6 bimmers
72 Colorado tii
73 Atlantik 2002 - benneton's in process modified car
76 Chamonix 2002 - benneton's with m stripes
91 Alpineweiss 318is - new daily driver and a kick to drive
94 Morea 325ic w/hardtop
04 Sienna X3 - mom's car
only the X3 has less than 140k miles and is worth more than $7k

there's got to be other makes that are as fun to drive, but i'm in a rut and try as i might i can't think of any other makes i'd rather own

part of the continuing fun is picking up a 318is and finding out it's a blast to drive, and is pretty inexpensive to own and operate.

pretty warped eh?

With a little love, that 72 tii would be worth more than 7k.

and will get more love over the winter with a rebuilt motor, and cleaned/restored suspension/rebuilt calipers

my vote was for my dad to pcik up a local 190E 16 valve that was pretty setup. 2.5l 16valve 4 cylidner, thats 700 more cc than the 318 but just as fun. My friend has a 190e, and i love how they look

Our 190E is an 8V automatic. Not much fun to drive, but very reliable and confy. I've heard that newer Mercs don't have the same "built like a tank" feel.

Hey Harry,

I bought a 190 last month - the cooking 2.0 - it's gutless, floats all over the road and it's beige - but hey, the air-con blows cold and it set me back 99 euros!!

Subject: Hey, that's like $75 , right? Great deal!

The reason for the "floating", other than worn shocks, is the gazillion suspension bushings they have. When they are worn the rear suspension moves around quite a bit.

Mine does the same. i plan a suspension overhaul sometime in the near future, if I decide to keep it.
