I have an opportunity to pick up a '74 that had an unfortunate encounter with a very large tree. The driver's side front quarter is pretty much gone and the whole front end crumpled. The owner (the son of a friend, so think I can trust him) claims the engine was "completely rebuilt" about 20K miles ago. The body and interior are decent, but no great shakes. I could probably get some doors and sheet metal off of it, but not much more. Rust in the usual places, spare tire well, rear quarter trunk, etc. So my question is, what should I be paying for this? I might transplant the engine and tranny into an auto shell or use the engine in another rig? I assume the auto tranny engines and manual engines are same? Opinions welcome. Thanks, Noel
