Subject: spinning tires in first gear

Hello all
I have a 1974 2002 with limited slip diff from a 320i, 38/38 weber four sp manual tranny.
The problem I am having is that when I come of the clutch in first gear the car takes of like I am drag racing. There are no binding in the carb mechanism. Could this problem come from the diff.

I think the problem might be your right foot.

I had the same problem with the 38/38. I would think that you have some binding in the linkage that is being amplified by the synchronous carb. Perhaps time to replace the slider ball on the accelerator pedal?

Letting the engine move and that movement pulls the throttle open?

I run a 38/38, and yes I have experienced a "Race" when accelerating from first. Before getting used to it, I tended to either race forward, or lag. Now after getting used to it I know what makes her happy, and I don't unintentionally look like an "ass" on the road. There is something at work there, I'm just to lazy to spend much time trying to figure out why it happens, plus jacking with carb is something I'd like to steer clear of, unless of course I have sound advice.
