Subject: Opinions wanted..

I rolled my 74 tii last month. I have another 74tii rolling shell that I will transfer parts to. I have a two car garage with the totaled tii on one side.

I have to transfer almost everything to the roller, suspension, engine, tranny, rear end, gas tank etc. no body parts.

I would like to know what others think about the following:

1) should I strip my car first and then bring in the roller, or

2) have both my car and the roller in at the same time and swap parts

3) what would you do first or rather, what sequence of removal/assembly would you suggest.

thanks for any advice and information,
chris

ps love the spell check!! good job on the updated site everyone!

I guess it depends on if you need(want) to do any work to the parts being tranfered ie: paint, new bushings etc. If not then I would transfer parts directly from one to the other. If your gonna paint subs etc its nice to do all the stages of that work at the same time. Diss assemble everything,- strip everything, prime everything etc etc. In that case I'd strip the donor and get rid of the shell. Put the receiving shell outside and set up shelves and benches etc.

I would just strip the crushed one first...that way you have more room in the garage to work in.

than they will if left on the parts car. If you strip it first you'll have less space unless you build some big assed shelves.

Or at least one group of parts at a time. Then there's no wondering which bolt goes where, where that spring thing went, or what the heck does this little doohickey do? And if you have both cars in the garage till it's done you will have a reason to get it done sooner than later to get your garage back. And peteinjp is right, a disassembled car takes way more space than a together one.
