Subject: Tires for Alpina 14" wheel non availability

For Alpina 14x7 wheels, standard size is 225/60-14 H rated. I can't find these tires in H rated, Michelin, Sumitomo and Falken all made these tires in H rated and now I can't find them. Tire Rack doesn't carry them. last time I looked in the Tire Rack web page, Michelin Pilots were over a 100 a piece in this size. Now they are NLA. Anyone one have any leads on where to find this size in H rated?

I realize it's a taller profile, but there seems to be a lot more selection in that size. Look at it this way: tires and complex compunds are so much better than they were 30 years ago, that the same size tire now is like a wider tire then. Or something like that.....

but it is so cool to have wide tires if you can put some heat into them :)

XZX, hold on to your hat though -- cost is anywhere from $225 each to $399 each. The original Alpina CSL 7x14 had either 195/70 or 205/70 tires as I recollect.

believe--very pricey though $225 each to $399 each and that is what the CSL's ran back in the day with the 7x14 wheel.

I got my stock 2002 tires at Big O. 165R-13. I went to three other tire stores and their computers came up with nil. They WILL look at you kinda funny.

That is a much shorter tire than the size you mentioned. I've seen them for about $105 each.
