Subject: M2 Progress

Well, I have the engine and CR tranny mated together. I still have to enlarge the opening for the Curt Radiator and pound out the tunnel a little more. My plan is to jack up the car high enough to slide it under the car and then hoist it in position.

I'm still waiting to hear from Rob @ 2002haus about the bolt on exhaust system. As soon as I hear something, I'll let you know.

Subject: what oil cooler are you running?

it looks like you have some "an" adapters of some sort attached. i think ill run a cooler just to the left of the passenger headlight ala bob from skidmark

i bet that UUC water pump nut isnt going to fit. i had to cut the threads off my waterpump to get 1/4 inch clearance between my pump and radiator. have you test fit it yet?

Internally, I just replaced the oil pump. I did strip off all the external items, Por 15 the block, powder coated the valve cover and plenum. I then replaced everything with new parts.

Subject: I will be using the stock E30M3 oil cooler

The fittings you are looking at are for a remote oil filter. The oil filter was very close to the steering box and could not be removed without hitting it. I'm not sure where I will be mounting it. I'll have to wait till the engine is in. The remote oil filter kit is from Amsol.

What did you use to cut off the water pump shaft? I did a test cut on the old water pump with a hack saw and I couldn't cut through the shaft! That sucker was hard.

Looks great. Kinda hard to see what's going on with the oil filter adapter. What's the plan? Remote filter? I'd love to hear about it and/or the remote oil cooler.
