Not quite old school, but very impressive. It had a two liter Cosworth motor with 32 lbs of boost! It was very well sorted. I'll try to post some pictures this week...

quite bulletproof, but the body rusted faster than I could fix it...in fact it was the fastest part of the truck!

Subject: Right you are, Mr. Spoke!!! At the AutoWeek Design Forum...

...at the NAIS in Detroit couple of years ago, Ralph Gilles, a Chrysler Designer, and wunderkind of CCS (Center For Creative Studies, just up the road) touted the BMW 2002, '32 Ford hotrod (chopped and channeled), the 1957 Chevrolet and the first Chrysler 300 as icons of automotive design.

At the question and answer period after his talk, I posed this question to him, and I suppose to all other designers in attendance, "what is the difference between 'auto styling' and 'auto design?'"

Mr. Gilles said he'd "have to think about it."

In the broader view, simply stated, "style" is derived from "good design." "Good design" cannot be derived from "style."

BTW, I teach Design Drawing at a Design College here in Michigan.

Damn I'd love to have one of those, 2.0 straight six, Twin cam........... mmmmmm, drooooooooooool. Too bad with the one they are putting the RB26 in, eh, cool for a second, but the classic 2000 engine is just too cool to pull out! Nice lot of cars, lately i've been liking the classic Japanese stuff!

Subject: Gawd, I miss my 4 AGE Corollas!

These are awesome cars. At one time, I owned two of them -- an '85 notchback and an '85 hatchback.
The hatchback was my favorite to toss around at ice races, rallies and speed events. It had a TRD header and HKS exhaust, Konis, LSD and manual steering. No A/C!

This particular car ran at Sebring, the Glen, Mid Ohio, Summit Point, in the Firehawk IMSA Showroom Stock class against a whole gaggle of MR2s...

These are rev-happy (7500) twin cam 1600s, and the sound when it got "up on the cams" was just awesome. I stuffed some 14" Panasports and 205/60-14s under it and she just flew. In the winter I ran skinny Hakkas and won just about every ice race I entered.

The notchback was my summer driver...Tokico 5-way adjustables, TRD header, HKS Exhaust...drove it both coasts and back on a junkyard motor.

*sigh*
