Mine has a borken pipe, and I have a replacement reactor. Is it as easy as removing an exhaust manifold? The head is a new rebuilt, so I know the nuts aren't all corroded on there.

Mine's a '75 and i replaced it (under the car on my back) with a tii maniflold when it became california exempt. for me, removing the reactor was no more difficut than removing a regular manifold. however, it was not easy and it is a no fun job. i think the manifold is designed to be installed and removed with the head off. The nuts on the bottom are tough to access. One had such restricted clearance that I could only get an open end wrench on it and could only move it about an eight of a turn each time without repositioning the wrench. I could not disassemble the connection between the reactor and down pipe, it was frozen (welded). so I had to disconnect the downpipe from the exhaust pipe and take out the whole assembly to get it out. On balance, it is not any easy job. If I had to do it again, I would shop around for a friendly muffler shop to do it. If you can get it done for $100, it would be worth the trouble. good luck.

manifold. More power, stronger and less trouble.
