I thought it was a bent thottle plate, when I grab the linkage and lift up on it it slows down so I swithched carbs but still have the same problem. Any thoughts?? Thanks....steve

i tightened my spring up when it started doing that. also, give a good cleaning to the linkage and lube the ball joint and firewall mount too. it helped with mine.

Too much fuel maybe. I have a motorcycle w/ a carb that fills up that runs fast until it doesn't flood. Maybe check your needle/float that it's not sticking and maybe lean out the carb some.

linkage so the throttle can return to full idle...

I set the timing, adjusted the air/fuel mixture and lubed up the linkage and it seems fine now. Thanks for the input....steve
