The valve cover breather hose on my stock '76 02 is properly connected to the metal pipe air cleaner. There is a little hose barb on that metal pipe on the underside of the air cleaner with no hose on it. The Haynes manual calls it a "vacuum control" but doesn't show clearly where is goes. Do I need to connect it and where does it go? Could this be causing the stinkyness (oily and rich exhaust smell) when the engine runs? A search of forums and archives doesn't specifically address this.
