Just a few minutes ago the girlfriend yells to me 'Hey, your car is on TV!". Apparently BMW's new 3-series ad features a 2002 at the beginning, stating "In 1968 BMW introduced" blah blah something or other. Didn't get to see it myself unfortunately. :(

In my effort to find the ad online, I stumbled upon this 22 minute 281mb video (dial-up users beware) entitled 'Evolution of an Icon'. It focuses a great deal on the 2002, and features commentary by David E. Davis Jr. and numerous others. Lots of great action shots and information about the history of our little cars. I believe it may have been shown on the Discovery Channel at one time.

In addition, the BMW website has a neat feature under 'Heritage' that chronicles the changes in the 3-series line over the years. When you mouse over the choices the lights and turn-signals on the '02 illuminate. I'm such a sucker for goofy stuff like that :)
