Hi folks,
The previous owner replaced the stock distributor with one from a ti engine (0231 151 008). It has a weber 32/36 carb.
How is it's reliability and ease of maintenance (set engine timing) compared to the vacuum type?
I am contemplating going back to the stock distributor but I want to find out if I can set this one correctly before I make a decision.
Thanks in advance,

If you have a setup (such as you do) that can drive a vacuum advance, there are significant improvements in light throttle, light load driveability and fuel economy to be had. The procedure for setting timing is pretty much the same (after you disable the vacuum advance...). The vacuum advance unit is one more bit that can fail, but there are many 02s benefiting from this technology (with, collectively, a gazillion miles on the mechanisms).
