Things are heating up, here in the NCC. Who reigns supreme? Is it Jonathan's Inka 2002tii, landslide** winner of the "People's Choice" award at his own Carpool event? Or is it the Michael Jordan/Tiger Woods of the Concours circuit - our own Bill W and his immaculate Touring (or P2, for that matter)? One thing for sure -- the local competition is heating up. Here for example is what a certain author had to say about Jonathan's win in the Carpool event (source: der Bayerische, July/August 2008, page 22):
"No David, he did not stuff the ballot box . . . The old retired guy - sans a car, just could not get it finished."
Ohhh - ouch - snap! Jonathan, that sounds like a challenge! But methinks a trouncing may be in order - you best clean up your trunk.
Bill W, congratulations on yet another win. Jonathan - time to up your game. Indeed, when it comes to Concours events, Bill W is your Daddy.

Bring Otis and we can fill that coffin with ice & adult beverages, stand back, sip and watch the proceedings! Bill has been in touch with John Estep so it seems the event is on again this year. Oh wait...Patina doesn't venture that far from home!! (J/K Jonathan) _________________ John in VA

I have thought about 'glassing in the coffin's interior. But wait until you see what I have in store. Otis' very own trailer is nearing completion (we're waiting for good weather, to apply the paint). It will be unlike any other -- "I will give the people something they have never seen before" -- Maximus.
As for watching the proceedings, I am more than happy to sit back in the weeds - 'tis my lot in life, as you know. Any word on how much it will cost to enter the Pullmeinfinger class?
PS - anyone else notice Jonathan's recent radio-silence status? I guess I should drive by and check on him - one never knows when rigor mortis has set in.

wants to penalize show cars and reward daily drivers.
I understand and appreciate the effort to include more people - but - what determines a daily driver? How do the judges make that determination, stone chips per square inch, dull bright work, missing pieces, no appearance of wax ever, fuel smell, worn tires, broken glass, dirt......
Kinda flies in the face of the meaning of the word CONCOURS.
I can care less, I have one of each plus a parts car, I just found it amusing. Sounds like McWilliams, Williams, Gerock, Powelli, Wegweeser, Cervi and Maxson and all of the rest of the nice cars in the DC area are to stay home.
Randy Bryant - you have a chance with the e-21 my brother. _________________ 1972 2000tii Touring

I dare Weg to show up . . . he owes me a kiss - on the lips.
Also, I searched for specific mention of poor old Otis in the list of above-referenced "nice cars in the D.C. area," but seeing no such specific mention (albeit, there is a "catch all," but alas, no specific mention), I'll accept relegation to rock-chip status. In fact, I can smell dirty Otis from here . . .
(Just pulling your leg as always, Bill)

Bill,
My E21, that you're lovingly referring to, is a vandalized, daily driver; a special class in a concours event, for sure. Maybe the graffiti that was etched through the schwartz paint qualifies for "custom graphics", too.
Over 305,000 miles and counting........

Randy Bryant

Bill was axing about how the judges would qualify or determine a daily driver for the ShenVin event. I JUST realized, that based on his previous "list" of questionable parameters, I WOULD win with my E21!
dirt, cracked glass, dings, dents, aged brightwork.......CHECK!

Randy Bryant
