Shelby just put his name on a number of generic '80's wheels-
they're neither better nor worse than most from the era.

But not nearly up tp the standard of a GOOD BBS or any Panasport...

fwiw.

Had a set Carroll Shelby Minilite-Copy heels on my '78 Saab 99 Turbo -- polished rim, charcoal centers.

Bought 'em at the Saab dealer...

Anyway, old wheels are kind of a pig-in-a-poke. The German and Italian wheels, Alpina, BBS, Mahle, ATS, Campagnolo and Momo are more likely to be cast at a higher standard than say, the British wheels, like Cosmic or Minilite. Apparently, it takes a Japanese company like Panasport to make a proper Minilite copy.

Shelby seems to have been a pioneer in licensing his name on wheels, steering wheels and various Dodge products in the 1980s...good for him...but not always in the best interests of the buying public.

IMO, these are not worth the powder to blow'em to hell. And, the likelihood of finding a spare is just about nil.

I feel very fortunate to have a set of vintage Minilites on my '73tii. And since they are back in business in the UK I can still buy the centercaps (but not the lugnuts).

The only saving grace of running these wheels of questionable repute, is the NOS set of four I have languishing in my storage.

I have a set on my 74. Offset is marginal making rolled frnders desirable and parking speed steering heavy. Otherwise good solid wheels

vr4boy - Are you Rob in Pasadena, MD that has the E30 front spoiler I'm hoping to snag? Congrats on the 2002 purchase!
