My car is a '70 sahara with pre-71 euro bumper sets. This is the type with small front overiders with no black moldings, and no rear overiders. Do you think it'd looks good if I install the black door moldings although not period correct or original. i also installed the front spoiler.

Nothin' finer than the clean-looking early cars without alll that brick-a-brack hangin' on 'em like a freakin' Christmas tree.

Leave it alone.

The lower mouldings look "wrong" on a car with the early bumpers, IMO.

also...

More holes means more chances of rust.

Spoilers mean more holes, too. Not only that, they tend to break off.

My $.02

Agree with Delia on this 100%. If not originally on your car do not add them. There is something neat about the early cars whithout the side moldings. Leave it original.
Just my 02 cents.

the lower molding looks like the aftermarket stuff you can buy from Kragens and apply with double-sided tape. i hate the lower molding. it's pricey, the rubber peels off in due time and the holes required are just another avenue for water intrusion/rust as mentioned above.

as much as i like things mostly factory stock, i've come to the realization that no other 12-fuse car i restore will ever have that molding on it, including my tii's.

I agree. I have an early bar on a squarie so its well period un-correct. I should have left off the knee line trim but decided to keep it because its black on a black car so you dont really see it so much.
