Subject: 1976 2002- excellent, well known car in CT $7000

Hey Everyone- I have decided to put my car up for sale. I recently moved into a condo. Parking is a little bit of a challenge with two cars and I feel like I am not using the car as it should be.

The car used to be owned by Creighton (C.D.iesel) and Larry (76 Duece) on this board. I have made some improvements to the car since owning it. It truly is a great driving, handling, sounding, stopping and looking car. It has all the right things done to it and hasn't been half assed. I would have no qualms driving the car cross country (with some oil and ear plugs).

Here is a list of the things I have done to the car: new 320 alternator, new battery, new black carpet, nice 320 recaros, new center radio stack with modern cd player & speakers under the rear seats, drivers side frame rail & floor done by Matt McGinn at Sports Car Restoration, 14 inch basket weaves, got the big front mounted fog lights wired with relays to work with dash switch, and head gasket.

The things done to car previously are almost too long to list, but here is off the top of my head: tucked front bumper, upgraded head lights, poly bushings all around, front strut brace, rear strut brace with battery relocation, 32/26 weber, front & rear sway bars, bilstein sports, H&R springs, ansa exhaust, stahl? header, guibos, gas tank, windshield gaskets, rain gutters, 320 drums, and a lot of other smaller things escaping me.

I goofed when I had the head gasket replaced in that I should have had the valve seal done at the same time. The car has very good power, but uses a significant amount of oil- smokes on decel. The heat always stays on in that on the highway hot air blows through the floor- something must be stuck somewhere, the paint isn't perfect with a couple of surface spots here and there (I would consider the car 99% rust free). Lately, I have had an odd problem with the high beams not working sporadically.

I have plenty of pictures of the car to send. The car is located in Norwalk, CT (hour train from NYC). The car always attracts lots of thumbs up, but I have a 89 325 is that is good fun as well. ccrelan at aol.com

A couple corrections on the ad: as far as the bushings go the poly ones are the sway bar, diff mount, and passenger side motor mount. Everything else is rubber. The header is supersprint and the drums are stock not 320 drums.

I bought the car in April of 07 for $4800. I spent a considerable amount of money on the interior, the metal work at SCR, and other asthetics such as the wheels. How much those improvements are worth is debatable. Anyone looking for a solid driving 02 will not be disapointed and could do much worse. Will entertain any serious offers before the car hits ebay.
