Subject: Hey CD - DGAV installation question

CD -

When you installed your DGAV, what did you do with the part titled "valve" (the little deal that is between the carb and the fuel pump). I think we've decided it's an overpressure relief or something.

It's part # 14. Use it? Remove it?

Thanks,

Ken

I fed directly from the fuel pump to the 32/36. Did that part worked with the original Solex.

He suggested I " throw it at the neighbor's dog " So I did.

Ha ha ha

Here's the actual post:

It's a great quote:

...remove it and throw it at the neighbors dog that kraps on yer lawn!"

So - what do you do with the different lines? Especially that big return line? Just yank it I guess?

I left a short length of hose attached to the fitting on the tank and stuck a bolt in it with a hose clamp. Just leave the steel line under the car.

Tempting - my neighbor with the pool is a SOB, even if he does have a 745i....

Well - even the 745 isn't redeeming - they only come in automatic.....

Ok - it's goin' over the fence.

I'd save it rather than pitch it. Good condition small OE fuel system and emissions related parts are getting scarce.

Years ago, we used to chuck all the thermostats, fan shroud flaps, throttle position valves and other parts for the VW flat four engines. Most are either NLA or getting expensive.

Plus - your neighbor might give you a whuppin' for bruising his dog and popping his pool float.
