Subject: 2002 springs and shifting decal

Hello Guys,

I have two questions. (1) Does anyone know where to get the 4 speed transmission shifting pattern decal to put on the dash board?

(2) Would anyone be able to advise me on how to handle weak springs in the rear of a 1974 2002. I suppose I could change the springs. I wonder if someone knows where to get new springs and how involved the job might be. Also, someone said to me that there is an adjustable spring spacer that can be installed in the rears...Does anyone know anything about that?

Thank you for your help,

Lou DeRicco

KEITH HAS A 5 SPEED DECAL BUT I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE 4 SPEED .
PERHAPS THE "5" PART COULD BE TRIMMED OFF .

'em I think.

As for springs, you can buy aftermarket springs and lower the car an inch or so or you can get a set of used (new ones are $$$) OEM springs. Be advised, though that 73-76 USA springs are about an inch taller than 68-72 ones due to Federal bumper height requirements from 73 on.

I have a set of stock 74 springs (in OH) that have been in my parts stash for 15-20 years and came off a pretty low mileage car, so shouldn't be sagged at all. Drop me an e-mail if you're interested.

cheers
mike
