Canberra, Aus.: $20.02 buys about 12.21 litres (3.15 US Gal.) at $1.639AUD (i.e. $1.60CAN or $1.57USD). It is up because it's a holiday weekend and there's nothing like a little profiteering on these occasions.

Average price for E95 which is regular in Finland is today 1.547 euro/liter.
That would be 5.856 euro/US gallon
and euro = 1,54$ which leads to
9.018 $/gal

So that's something for you to expect in future!

Yea, I don't know wheter to cry or laugh. We're used to highest gas prices in the world but this is getting ridiculous. And there's nothing better to be seen in future! We work to pay taxes and gas - there's about nothing left after that!

In this socialized enviroment it will go higher.
We need to vote the bums (democrats) out of office and get someone in there who thinks it is ok to drive. It is not the gas companies who are causing this mess. it is the idiots who will not free us from dependance on the middle east.
We have enough oil in north america, once developed to rid us from the dependance.

Saw Chevron premium for $4.499/gal yesterday in Santa Rosa, CA.

It's interesting that the difference between regular, mid and premium has remained 10 cents per gallon for several years now, even with the rapid price runups over the last year.

I paid $1.027 per liter for Texaco Regular this morning. The '02 drinks Premium, which is about seven cents more expensive per liter.

the truth is globalization has created a surging middle class all across the world, especially in Asia, and this vast new demand (with speculators seeing nothing but massive increases in said demand, and bidding accordingly) is driving up the price. We dont even get our oil from the middle east, it comes from Canada and Venezuela. (Our consumption is still a huge portion of the global market, so it is true that we contribute to feeding the middle east oil states indirectly.)

Destroying our coastlines and wildlife areas is not the answer. We can do far more with conservation and upping CAFE standards, not driving ridiculous SUVs and trucks to office jobs, etc. I for one am glad the high prices are killing the SUV and truck market, and laugh every time i see one at the pumps these days. The real answer is to work to eliminate our dependence on oil in general, not to destroy our natural national treasures to feed our gas guzzling culture.

I hate to throw gas on this fire, but we can hardly blame democrats for high gas prices. The Republican war machine of the last 7 years has only served to take money from the poor and middle class and give it to the rich. Having the world hate us sure doesn't help our ability to get oil, either. Ruch Limbaugh's a misinformed and misguiding moron.

As it is, America consumes 25% of the world's oil usage. That's an olympic-sized swimming pool every minute. I want cheaper gas, too, but we, as a country, need to learn how to use it judiciously.

Gas was $1.46/gallon when Bush took office.

If I could get gas w/o it dumping out of the filler neck, I'd be a happy mutt. I do a 3 day round trip in a '03 Ford F-150 @ 18 mpg. 185 mi one way on Monday and 185 back on Wednesday. Ya don't wanna know. I put 5 Gal in the '73 '02 today at 4.43 gal and got 1/2 a tank. I put 2 5 gallon cans in the truck when I fill up and dump those in the beemer.

$3.87 for regular here in Orlando Fl
First time ever it cost me over $50.00 to fill up my Honda CRV
Lucky my wife & I have three cars, each getting at least 25 MPG

98 Honda Civic 31MPG
01 Honda CRV 28 MPG
75 BMW 2002 25 MPG

All Three paid in full.
Beter than any so called "smart car"

We Europeans are fucked anyway when it comes to petrol. Not just the high oil price, but all the tax on it as well. Diesel is over a EUR 1.40 at the moment. Barf.
