Subject: Help: door won't unlock, how do I get it open?

This morning I was unlocking my drivers door and something sliped inside the door as the key turned counter clockwise with no resistence. The door did not unlock all the way and I could not open the door. The inside door handle would not unlocke it either so I had to climb in from the passenger side...

Once home and out the passenger side. I tried pulling the lock button rod up with a pliers and it would not budge any further. The door will still not unlock or open.

An ideas on how to get this unlocked and open so I can take the door panel off to see what went wrong>

Has any one removed a door panel while the door is closed? I guess that is what I will try next.

Thanks,

Ug.

If the handle won't unlock it, it must be jammed...
I'd start by taking the seat out...

Subject: lock stuff

go to both of these and print them out

like you said... try taking the door panel off

then identify the parts in the bottom of the door... what picture what number

for the heck of it. Reach around all of the glass/tracks and stuff and see if you can actuate the paddle that the keyed/handle button moves should come in towards you.

best of luck

With the drivers window all the way down there is a few inches of open space where I used a 12" long 3/8 flat wood drill bit (that I have for drilling through walls for coax) to push on varis things inside the door down by the latch, and viola, I triped the lock and the door handle worked.

I could not get to the pictures linked above dirctly but will track them down the menu.

Tomorrow I'll take the panel off to see what I can see.

Thanks,

Look them up at Realoem.com if you want to figure out what's going on.

Cheers!
