Just got my Pertronix 2842 but the round magent that goes on the shaft below the rotor does not go all the way to allow the rotor index in the slot. Has anyone else had issues with this? If so what did you do?

thanks

What was the number on the black wheel? 18433?

Did just that turn it and does go down a little more but still not to the point that it needs to to get the rotor on the shaft

not sure what the number was on the magnet, but my dizzy was a different number than yours....i don't know if it's possible that you have the wrong one for your car? not sure but i hope you figure it out.

turn the black bushing over and look at the inside. You should see that the profile of the inside is the same as the distributor shaft. If you can align the shapes up it goes down easily... I just did this less than an hour ago.

Try it you'll see.
